Second, we can handle IP litigation and transactional matters for your clients Third, for non-large firm practitioners, we can help you compete by allowing you to offer a broader range of quality services to your clients that they might otherwise seek from large firms or your competitors. We have joint ventured significant IP litigation either by formally appearing as co-counsel or by assisting in the background.

In making your decision as to whom to refer your client, please consider our policies on referrals. We recognize that the practice of law is a referral-based business. A significant portion of our IP business is based on referrals from non-IP practitioners. Therefore , we make the following two promises to all referring lawyers. Please consider CKPT’s trial lawyers. We have represented a number of out-of-state plaintiffs and defendants in federal and state courts in Dallas and elsewhere in Texas. We have significant experience with patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, and business/commercial litigation as local counsel. We also have represented a number of clients in obtaining or resisting temporary restraining orders, preliminary/temporary injunctions, and other equitable relief. We can assist you in obtaining or resisting this type of injunction relief in the state and federal courts in Dallas, Texas. We also advise and assist with removal of cases from state court to federal court and motions for remand.
With respect to patent lawsuits, we have significant experience with patent claim construction and Markman hearings. We can assist you in navigating the local patent rules in federal courts for the Northern District and Eastern District of Texas. We recently tried a trademark infringement lawsuit in the Northern District of Texas as local counsel, and have handled a number of injunctions proceedings in trademark cases. We have significant experience in handling departing employees and other trade secret infringement cases, including ex parte temporary restraining orders, dissolving such orders, and temporary injunction hearings in state court. We have handled over a hundred of copyright-infringement disputes involving software.
